About the Refuge
Sandwell Women's Refuge provides support for all women who need to get away from violence in the home - whatever their age, ethnic background, religious belief, sexual orientation, marital status or disability.
We have two refuges in the Sandwell area with crisis accommodation for women who have to leave home to be safe. There are flats specially designed for women with physical disabilities, and accommodation set aside for women without children.
If you do not want to leave home, we can still provide support to you, either over the phone or by making an appointment to talk things over with you at our Smethwick office.
We aim to be culturally sensitive and our experienced staff group is drawn from all ages and ethnic backgrounds. In both of our refuges there is always a worker on duty. We have regular visits from solicitors and housing professionals to add to the advice and information we are able to provide.
You don't have to go on suffering abuse at home. Making the break may be tough but no-one will blame you for doing it. You can talk to us and share your problems. We won't tell you what to do. You can make your own decisions about your future in a safe and secure place.
