Sandwell Women's Refuge needs Friends!

We help women suffering domestic violence by providing secure, emergency accommodation so that they can make unpressurised decisions about the future. We offer advice, support, information and counselling not only to our residents, but to any woman who needs us.

We can now accommodate 26 women and their children in our two refuges in Oldbury and Tipton.

Friends of SWR pay £5 a year (£3 unwaged) in support of our work. This money goes towards 'extras' - birthday parties, trips out for the kids, pictures on the walls, books, videos - things we wouldn't otherwise be able to pay for. The more Friends we have, the better quality of life we can give our residents, of all ages.

You get something back from us too! As well as a social event combined with our Annual Meeting, there are other parties (and we can recommend the food!) as well as Open Days/Evenings at our refuges. Then there are fundraising events - with an emphasis on the 'fun'!! And we send out a newsletter to keep Friends up-to-date with what is going on at SWR - there's still time to catch the next issue!
