Development Partnership Initiative

introducing new approaches for new futures...

To enable organisations to achieve the services that people with learning disabilities want and need for the future, the NDT has developed a range of new partnership initiatives around key 'themes', which we know are critical to success.

Improving inclusion in ordinary lifestyles means changing the culture of support services and takes time to achieve. To be robust it needs to be part of a strategic approach. These initiatives offer an important alternative to short term 'consultancy' and provide a mature and genuine partnership within which high quality development can be secure and sustainable.

The themes are not mutually exclusive and there will be many opportunities for shared learning. They do however represent a cost effective way of structuring our relationship with Development Partners for a period of up to 3 years to ensure that the best possible outcomes are achieved.

What does the Development Partnership offer you?

  • active support to develop a vision for change which reflects local needs and priorities.
  • support to develop individual and collective leadership to achieve high quality practice in your organisation or locality.
  • a long term, developmental partnership with access to the NDT's experience, networks and the skills of its associates to support the continuous improvement, sustenance and sharing of good practice.
  • providing your organisation with a unique opportunity to influence policy at local and national levels.
  • the opportunity to access:
    • relevant networks
    • 'up to the minute' information
    • international expertise and knowledge (including Europe)
    • conferences, seminars and publications . . . and
    • to profile your work in leading publications and at national events.
