Development Partnerships

Development Partnerships offer an alternative to short-term consultancy. They provide a mature and genuine partnership within which high quality development work can be secure and sustainable.

The partnerships offer:

  • Support to implement "The Same As You?"
  • Support to develop a vision for change that reflects local needs and priorities.
  • Support to develop individual and collective leadership to achieve high quality practice.
  • A long-term partnership with access to the NDT's experience, networks and the skill of its associates.
  • A unique opportunity for your organisation to influence policy.

Person Centred Planning

"Everyone with a learning disability who wants to should be able to have a personal life plan." (Recommendation 3 - The Same As You?)

People who use services, the Government and service providers seek to place person centred planning at the heart of service planning and delivery.

The NDT offers a day of information and training in how o implement or improve person centred approaches. The Person Centred Planning Workshop introduces person centred planning, explaining the family of approaches and when to use them. The workshop includes a new diagnostic tool to enable you to establish what your next steps should be, to move towards person centred plans for all.

Molly Mattingly has recently joined the NDT to take a lead role in this work. She has developed, with families, a workshop day which introduces families to the key concepts of person centred approaches. The NDT also offers training in person centred approaches for practitioners.

If you want to know more, contact Julia Cowie,
or
Molly Mattingly on 0161 228 7055.

Quality Network

Quality Network is an outcomes-based approach to quality review and action planning. The Quality Network review process is inclusive and focuses on the individual. It allows anyone and everyone to be included. Review Team members visit service users over several days to find out about quality in their lives. The information is then used to action plan for change. The Quality Network is UK wide, so good practice and advice can be widely shared.

The Quality Network can help you:

  • Find out what life is like for people with learning disabilities.
  • Get users, carers and commissioners working with you.
  • Improve services and achieve better lives for people with learning disabilities.
