Whether you are:

  • using services
  • providing services; or
  • purchasing services

Person Centred Approaches take you further towards inclusion for all and a better quality of life for people who use services. Using these approaches, we can help you to listen more effectively to what people really want in all aspects of their lives.

To achieve more Person Centred Approaches, we can teach you how to effectively use the techniques of Person Centred Planning. Person Centred Planning moves away from traditional problem focused approaches of planning and review towards positive planning based on people's attributes and gifts. Person Centred Approaches offer a new vision beyond service based supports and solutions.

What the NDT can offer

Person Centred Planning Workshop

A day to help services assess how to implement or improve Person Centred Approaches.

This day introduces the foundations of Person Centred Planning, explaining the family of approaches that it encompasses, including:

  • PATH
  • Personal Futures Planning
  • Essential Lifestyles Planning
  • Maps

Understanding the different methods and when to use them will give you the tools to respond to individual need and desire in more effective and creative ways.

We will also explore how to help your service move towards more Person Centred Approaches and how to safeguard these new ways of working for long term quality and value.

The day also includes a diagnostic assessment of your existing services, offering advice and suggestions on next steps, including further advice and consultancy.

The day iincludes all course materials and diagnostic follow-up. All participants will receive an information and commissioners pack. Up to 20 people can attend each session.

For further advice and information on this day or other individually tailored consultancy, training or action planning events, contact the NDT office.
